MARIONETTE Signs With LISTENABLE RECORDS

Gothenburg, Sweden-based melodic death metal act MARIONETTE has inked a deal with France's Listenable Records. The group's debut album was recorded in Borås with producer Simon Exner and will be released in late April.

Commented MARIONETTE bassist Mikael Mendin: "We are incredibly excited to work with Listenable and to release our debut album in April of this year. Listenable has an excellent reputation and we are happy to join a family that includes bands such as SOILWORK, MORS PRICIPIUM EST, GOJIRA, and IMMOLATION. We are well into the recording process and our album is currently being mastered. We had over twelve songs written for this record, but only the best made the cut. We have a great production team behind us for this release, which includes Christian Silver at StudioMega, Simon Exner, and two-time Swedish Grammy award winner Åke Parmerud. We hope everyone has been checking out our studio and live videos and getting a piece of the action. We look forward to hearing what everyone thinks of the new songs as well as the artwork, which we will be posting in the near future. Axel has a great design and we can't wait to share it with everyone! We also plan to book a lot of gigs in the near future to coincide with our release; so we look forward to seeing everyone in the mosh pit!"

MARIONETTE made its 2008 live debut opening for Japanese rock band GIRUGAMESH in Stockholm on January 31. The group's final gig of 2007 was a support slot with BY NIGHT at the legendary Gothenburg rock club Sticky Fingers.

MARIONETTE's "Terror Hearts" EP was recorded in late 2006 with Henryk Lipp (BURST) and Christian Silver (SONIC SYNDICATE, BY NIGHT). It was mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström (IN FLAMES, AT THE GATES, DARK TRANQUILLITY) in December 2006. The demo since has gained praise from underground and mainstream media alike in Sweden.
